Common Smartphone Soft Reset process:

iPhone 6S or earlier: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Home button together

iPhone 7: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Volume down button

iPhone X, iPhone 8: Press Volume up button once then Volume down button once the press and hold Sleep/Wake button 

Samsung devices: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Volume down button

HTC devices: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Volume up button

Huawei devices: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button

Windows Phone devices: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Volume down button

 

Quick & easy smartphone data transfer (Android/iPhone)

A quick and easy way to move contacts, calendar, photos and videos from one device to another is by using the ‘Copy My Data’ application. Ensure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and download the app to each device (Google Play, App Store). Once installed follow the onscreen instructions on both devices and data will begin to copy over the Wi-Fi network.

 

Android recovery menu:

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Volume down button
  3. Wait for ‘No Command’ to disappear. This can take around 15 seconds. If it does not disappear search for the appropriate keypress combo for the specific device
  4. Navigate menu using volume buttons to navigate and Sleep/Wake or Home button to confirm
  5. To factory reset device select ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ then select the ‘yes’ option

 

iPhone/iPad Recovery Mode:

iPhone 8, iPhone X:

  1. Power off device
  2. Plug iPhone into PC
  3. Press Volume up button once then Volume down button once the press and hold Sleep/Wake button 
  4. Release when ‘Connect to iTunes’ is displayed

iPhone 7:

  1. Power off device
  2. Press and hold Volume down 
  3. Plug iPhone into PC
  4. Release when ‘Connect to iTunes’ is displayed

iPhone 6S or earlier, iPad:

  1. Power off device
  2. Press and hold the Home button
  3. Plug iPhone into PC
  4. Release when ‘Connect to iTunes’ is displayed
